Admission to Schulich Medicine is based on academic ability and personal qualities, as evidenced by:

Scholastic Records

Applicants must have completed or be in the final year of a program leading to a 4-year undergraduate degree at a recognized university, and expect to have obtained your degree by the end of the academic year in which application is being made.

Western looks at your best two years of university.

Each year must have at least 3 full course equivalents whose published level is at or above the year of study

Minimum GPA to apply is 3.70

MCAT

If the MCAT is written more than once, scores from the most recent writing, prior to the application dealine, are used.

For applicants from outside Southwestern Ontario, the MCAT minimums for the 2014-15 application cycle are as follows:

Flexibility for Southwestern Ontario applicants is given.

The Schulich Medicine Admissions Committee's definition of Southwestern Ontario consists of Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth, Oxford, Middlesex, Lambton, Chatham-Kent, Elgin, and Essex Counties

Minimum scores of 8 is required in each section, but the combind score still must be 32.

Autobiographical Sketch & Personal Statement

The autobiographic sketch and personal statement provides a way to review non-academic data.

This includes achievements, extracirricular activities, volunteering, and work experience.

Interview

Invite for interviews are sent out in Feburary where 450 applicants will be interview in weekends in March and April
Panel of interviewers consisting of one physician, senior medical student and community representative

- 4 year program that requires four-year degree before applying and awards a Doctor of Medicine (MD)
- No pre-requisite courses required
- Require strong academic record, MCAT, autobiographical sketch, and interview
- 171 class size for 2016 and schools are London and Windsor
